About Draugr Forge

Draugr Forge is a work in progress. The undead dream of someone that doesn’t want to punch a clock and put money in someone else’s bank account.

Back in 2015 I had access to a anvil and hammer, so I made a makeshift forge out of a steel container and a torch to give making a railroad spike knife a shot. It was ugly. But, it was fun. So I decided to build a forge and an “anvil” for home. Again, ugly. But over time I built better equipment and acquired the things I needed to make proper knives(not that they were actually proper knives). As much as I loved swinging a hammer it was never more than a hobby that occasionally brought in a couple dollars here and there. After awhile I started helping with a bladesmithing class for veterans. Though there I met new connections in the bladesmithing world that would open my eyes to the possibilities of what some one can do if they really focus.

Over the years I have met, and worked for some of the best bladesmiths in the country. I have learned a lot and am still just scratching the surface of what is possible.

My favorite thing to do is make Stainless Damascus. I first had the though when I wanted to make a damascus ring but didnt want to ever worry about rust. So I started looking and found that there were already people out there doing it and doing it well. But, it didnt appear to be a mainstream thing like your typical carbon damascus. I want to change that. I want to do my part to make stainless damascus readily available for the knife makers out there. I love a challenge, so lets get to it!
